Curtis Fletcher Tattoo Artist

A native of Oklahoma, Curtis Fletcher became an “outlaw” 6 years ago when he began perfecting the art of tattooing. It was like a scene from a movie where he would hand out his business card to someone he had tattooed and instructed them to only give the card to people they knew and trusted who happened to want to get tattooed. This is how Curtis’ career in the tattoo industry began and continued for the next 5 years. He worked from home through an underground referral system until the time came where he could legally work in a tattoo studio.

Art has always come naturally for Curtis and as a child he became interested in music. He soon mastered the guitar and began his journey into the world of being a band member. During this time he became aware of another art form that was intertwined in the world of bands and tattoos piqued his interest at the ripe old age of 21. From that time forward he has never looked back. He enlisted friends who were tattoo artists and began the long and daunting task of learning how to tattoo. 6 years later it has landed him in the position of being co-owner of Cannibal Graphics as well as having had the pleasure of traveling all around the U.S. gaining wisdom and experience through the teachings and assistance of other artists. The knowledge gained catapulted his ability as a tattoo artist forward, 10 fold.

Curtis’ ability to put tattoo machine to skin and create a masterpiece is uncanny. His skill with traditional Japanese tattoos comes from an interest spurred by his love of martial arts. He began learning martial arts many years ago and developed a special bond with his master. Subsequently, he had the opportunity to grow and learn as a martial artist and eventually ended up as a co-owner of Shaolin Studios as well as an instructor of Hung Gar Shaolin Kung Fu. The Kung Fu enabled him to apply discipline to his art of tattooing and he has since become one of the most well respected artists in Oklahoma City.
